music

Thursday, March 25th, 2004

thanks to a cd from john ages ago, i found some new old music:

beth gibbons rustin man: “mysteries”, “tom the model” on album “out of season”. beck: “guess I’m doing fine”.

All totally inappropriate material when you are living on your own, on mefloquine, in a high-up apartment far from home. great tracks though.

Jesse’s Bookmarklets site

Wednesday, March 3rd, 2004

Thankfully I don’t have to plitter with this stuff now, but some people on my team are learning, so I dug out some very useful bookmarklets for web dev (and general). From www.squarefree.com.

Now i just need a bookmarklet to let me know which of the 100 bookmarklets is vaguely applicable to what I want to accomplish now. No really, great resource.

some playful, clever java projects at jibble.org, ircbot, dynamic graphs, etc. nothing particularly new, i guess, but include java source, so a good learning resource.

jfugue java music lib

Wednesday, March 3rd, 2004

JFugue is a Java API for music programming. It makes music programming incredible easy, and it’s great for applications in which music is generated at run-time: algorithmic or evolutionary music, music editors, jazz improvisers, and more.”.

what to think about before having your eyes lasered. (not that i’m doing it this decade).

Book Chapters - CodeComplete

code complete 2nd ed. Most chapters available for review before the book is completed in summer 2004.

wget -r -l1 -A.pdf http://stevemcconnell.com/cc2/cc.htm seems to be working. Wget funcionality in mozilla would be nice. using win32 wget! Having all sorts of problems with the cygwin one. missing required dlls and such. Cygwin package installer could be improved (with a can of petrol and a match).
