Jive Messenger becomes “Wildfire”. + Optimisation post-mortem.

We’ve been using jive software’s Jive Messenger server (now called “Wildfire”) for around a year with zero problems.

They’ve a short article up about the optimisation they did on v2.4.0: Wildfire Optimization.

Here’s detail on the name change to “Wildfire”. It’s true, “messenger” wasn’t a good name for an IM server.

The city is dying, and the urban dead are filling its streets. Urban Dead - A Free Massively Multi-Player Web-Based Zombie Apocalypse.

It only lets you play a very small amount each day (per character), which is a great leveller and stops you spending all your copious free time on the game.
